Donate your family's old photographs

Share Your Mississippi Photos

How many old photos do your family members have?  Are they ones that show people, businesses or scenes from Rankin County, Mississippi?

A lot has changed in our county in the past hundred or so years. Your historic photos show the growth and progression of our county. That's why it's so important to share your photos with us. We don't even need your original photos. We'll make a copy of your  photographs to include in our collection and return the original to you, if you'd like. Why not share your memories with researchers  and historians who would treasure your Rankin County roots?

Rankin County Historical Society

Resources for researching Rankin County history and genealogy include materials stored at the Brandon Public Library. Our Society was begun by a group of people led by Sara Richardson, who were determined that the history of Rankin County should be preserved. Toward that end, the organizational meeting of the Rankin County Historical Society was held on May 27, 1978, at the courthouse in Brandon.

The Rankin County Historical Society buildings and museum are located behind the Brandon Library in City Park at the back of the parking circle. They are open for tours by appointment only.
